Symptoms
When the diag-level OBP varible is set to "menus" and diag-switch is set to
true on Sun Blade[TM] 100/150 workstations, there is no output on local
monitor, no power led activity and the system appears to be "dead" after
attempted reset or reboot. Furthermore, the system will not respond to
Stop + A key sequence or double clicking the power button to simulate Stop
+ N procedure for NVRAM
defaults.

Resolution
This condition is frequently caused by insufficient comprehension of how
the "menus" variable functions under normal circumstances.
When the NVRAM variable "diag-level" is set to "menus" the system forces output and input to TTY-A after reset or reboot. Therefore, after these variables are set it becomes impossible to interact with the system on the local keyboard and monitor. The solution is to attach a terminal or terminal emulation device to TTY-A and then re-invoke POST via a power cycle. The terminal will become the point of interaction with the system. Under normal conditions, the terminal session will display POST information and then present the "menu" for which the "menus" diag-level is named.
