Symptoms
A new Sun Cluster[TM] 3.x installation used a JBOD unit (in this case, a Sun StorEdge[TM] D2 array in a split mode) for its shared storage.
After the installation and testing of the cluster, some problems with the shared array were discovered. The problem occurred when a node was booted into cluster, causing many SCSI warnings and a volume managment problem on the other node. In this case, the metadevices needed maintenance. The errors did not occur if the node was booted outside of the cluster.

Symptoms:

Resolution
Steps for Resolution

Change the scsi-initiator-id on one node to 6 globally for all devices at the OBP level and then use the nvramrc script to set the scsi-initiator-id to 7 on the local devices.

You can find the complete procedure in the Sun Cluster 3.x With SCSI JBOD Storage Device Manual for Solaris OS under 1.  Installing a SCSI JBOD Storage Device, Installing a Storage Array, How to Install a Storage Array
