Symptoms

During zone creation using command line interface, the createvezone command returns invalid WWN error.

For example:

msp0: root# /opt/SUNWsecfg/bin/createvezone -n v1 -c I00001 -w 210000e08b05f055 -z hom001_a_v1 -a hom001_a_i9
ERROR: Invalid WWN 210000e08b05f055 on v1 initiator I00001, or unavailable.

You have already checked the WWN number and it seems to be correct.

Resolution

The characters that are part of the WWN number need to be typed using capital letters.
In our example, the correct WWN number should be 210000E08B05F055

Comment: I think this is a good idea. I ran across the same problem in the past and it cost me somw extended troubleshooting time.

Comment: I decided to create this doc after I had had this issue on a customer environment. The resolution is simple and I believe the doc will be helpful.

I'm forwarding the doc to the Tech Review..

Thanks
