Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1018244.1 : "config_change_state: Error 0:" error when setting up hardware raid on a Sun Fire [TM] V440
PreviouslyPublishedAs 229640 Symptoms The customer was trying to mirror his 2 internal disk using the hardware raid controller built into the motherboard of the V440. Every time the customer ran the utility to mirror he got this error config_change_state: Error 0: . bash-2.03# /usr/sbin/raidctl -c c1t0d0 c1t1d0 config_change_state: Error 0 bash-2.03# /usr/sbin/format Searching for disks...done AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS: 0. c1t0d0 <SUN72G cyl 14087 alt 2 hd 24 sec 424> /pci@1f,700000/scsi@2/sd@0,0 1. c1t1d0 <SUN72G cyl 14087 alt 2 hd 24 sec 424> /pci@1f,700000/scsi@2/sd@1,0 The customer not knowing had the c1t1d0 initialized under Veritas Volume Manager. #/usr/sbin/vxdisk list DEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS c1t0d0s2 sliced - - error<--Not under Veritas control. c1t0d0s3 sliced - - error c1t1d0s2 sliced - - online<--Under Veritas control c1t2d0s2 sliced - - error c1t2d0s3 simple c1t2d0s3 rootdg online c1t3d0s2 sliced - - error Resolution 1.
