Symptoms
A PSH fault message appears on the console with the MSG-ID FMD-8000-0W (the Solaris[TM] Fault Manager received an event from a component to which no automated diagnosis software is currently subscribed.). The action recommended in the message: Run pkgchk-n SUNWfmd does not resolve the problem.

Resolution
On systems using the UltraSPARC T2 processor, including the Sun SPARC[R] Enterprise T5120 and T5220 Servers, this PSH message may be caused by known issues with error telemetry for which a patch is not yet available.

Relief/Workaround

software is installed properly.  Contact Sun for support.

If the <ereport class> is ereport.cpu.ultraSPARC-T2.dbu , this indicates there had been out-of-bounds memory reference and the system was reset. There is no known issue that will result in this condition. If it were to occur, the most probable cause is a misconfiguration of the MMU by the hypervisor. Contact Sun service for further analysis.

If the <ereport class> is ereport.fm.ferg.invalid then additional information is needed to determine the cause of the problem. Run the Solaris command fmdump -eV -u <EVENT-ID> using the EVENT-ID from the fault message as shown in the example below:

# fmdump -eV -u
