Symptoms
Archive file system is in read-only mode
Message: as_fmds: SYS: Unreliable time detected, Switching AS to read-only mode
IntelliStore cannot connect to the configured NTP Time Server

Resolution
One possible solution to the symptom of the Archive file system being in read-only mode is to reconfigure the Time Server.

The following steps can be followed to configure the Time Server through the CLI:

  1. archivecli
  2. as> logon
  3. Enter Login Id:admin
  4. Enter password:
  5. as>config ntp ipaddr
  6. You should see the following message if configured successfully (NTP Timer Server Configuration succeeded)
  7. as> exit

The following steps can be followed to configure the Time Server through the GUI:

  1. Logon to the GUI as admin
  2. Click on System Management -> System State
  3. Select Config NTP Time Server from Actions drop-down menu (upper-right corner)
  4. Enter the IP Address of the NTP Time Server in the IP Address field
  5. Click Apply

You can verify the NTP Time Server is set up properly though the CLI by:

  1. archivecli
  2. as> logon
  3. Enter Login Id:admin
  4. Enter password:
  5. as>Show Ntpconfig (The status should be SYNC)
  6. as> exit

You can verfiy the NTP Time Server is set up properly through the GUI by:

  1. Logon to the GUI as admin
  2. Click on System Management -> System State
  3. Select Show NTP Time Server from Actions drop-down menu (upper-right corner)
  4. Synchronization Status should be SYNC

The NTP Time Server may also be set through the CP CLI:

  1. clistart -u (logs you into the Common Platform CLI)
  2. CLI>OPER (takes you to the OPER section of the CLI)
  3. CLI-OPER>set_timeserver
  4. CLI-OPER>exit
  5. CLI>exit
  6. Do you really want to Exit (y/n):y
