Symptoms

Result Code 7009
RC7009
CAP will not lock
CAP does not close properly
Intermittent CAP lock problem
Typically this error is intermittent and can be posted in the SL8500 library event log as Result Code_7009.
The SL8500 CAP Assembly that can prevent the CAP from locking.

Cause

As the CAP is rotating to the close position it can stop short approximately .5"; the unlock led stays illuminated on the front panel and the Sbot will not audit the CAP.

The S-bots will not audit the CAP until the library controller can verify the CAP is in the lock position.

This can occur because the latching pin hits the latch at an incorrect angle.

Solution

Fix:

  • The fix is to apply FB_102196, which provides a new style CAP latch assembly with a change to the diameter of the latch assembly.
  • The change to the diameter of the latch will cause the latch to set at a different angle in reference to the latch pin.
  • The new latch assembly can be identified by a "V" cut into the top section of the latch assembly.
