Solution

Resolution
Use the following steps to resolve problem:

 

1. Ensure drive is at the current firmware version.

 

2. Perform R/W test on the drive with a known good tape.

3. If test fails, clean drive with good cleaning cartridge and rerun test.

 

4. Confirm that the tape involved with the original host failures works OK in another drive.

 

5. Replace drive if drive fails R/W test and original tape works in another drive.
