Symptoms

When Inventory All option is enabled via the Operator Control Panel (OCP) screen, the C4 library does not inventory the 2 fixed slots (37 and 38).

Resolution

According to Quantum this is not a defect as the C4 is working as designed.

When the Inventory Full option is enabled via the OCP panel, the robot will appear to inventory the 2 fixed cells. In reality, the code is not updating the inventory database.
The Inventory Full option was only intended for the Load Ports and Magazines, NOT for the fixed cells.

Quantum is also looking into making a correction to the Inventory All function so the fixed cells will also be inventoried. This will be addressed in future releases of the C4 firmware (>v26).

Note: If FULL Inventory is set to ON, upon closing the C4 door, bar code info will be updated automatically. When it is set to OFF, its required to manually run 'Scan Inventory' to update the inventory database.

Additional Information

Manually changing the tape cartridges out of the 2 fixed cells in the C4 library is not recommended due to the possible chance of damaging the robot when reaching in and out of the library.

The fixed cells are not designed to be accessed manually. Customers should NOT be physically swapping cartridges by hand.
