Symptoms
Attempts to log into the Sun[TM] Management Console(SMC) portion of the Common Array Manager(CAM), or the use of the sscs(1M) CLI for the Sun StorageTek[TM] products fail with a browser error of 404 or 500, when the Solaris[TM] Basic Security Module(BSM) is installed and enabled on the host with CAM services running.

The following message will be logged in the console or in the /var/adm/messages file:
root@usna4 # Oct  6 06:56:37 usna4 java[1927]: [ID 574227 daemon.alert]
Solaris_audit No user data available: Invalid argument
Oct  6 06:57:05 usna4 genunix: NOTICE: core_log: java[1927] core dumped:
/var/crash/cores/java.usna4.1927.core
This indicates that the SMC service must be restarted.

Resolution
The problem is that the SMC installation leaves out part of an entry in the
/etc/security/exec_attr file.

To resolve this, modify the /etc/security/exec_attr file entry:
Web Console Management:solaris:cmd:::/usr/lib/webconsole/smcwebstart:uid=noaccess;gid=noaccess;privs=proc_audit
To
Web Console Management:solaris:cmd:::/usr/lib/webconsole/smcwebstart:uid=noaccess;gid=noaccess;privs=proc_audit,file_dac_read

Additional Information
This issue is not limited to CAM installations, but affects any utility using SMC version lower than 3.0.2. SMC 3.0 uses a different entry in the exec_attr file, and does not exist for products using this release.

BSM is part of the core Solaris[TM] packages SUNWcsr and SUNWcsu.

This was logged as CR 6492020. This would have to be fixed in a future release of CAM, as it would need to bundle a new version of SMC, as well.
