Symptoms
On a Sun StorEdge[TM] T3+ storage array it was observed that the IP address could not be changed.
The change was attempted from the PSOS prompt.
It was observed that even a temporary change at the EP prompt would not
hold through reboots.
Below are the steps that were performed but were NOT Successful in changing the IP address:
1. set ip 10.20.33.230 (command at the PSOS prompt)
2. set (to verify the change)
3. reset
4. interrupted the boot cycle, ran set to verify change (still old IP exists)
5. boot from EP prompt
6. set command reports the IP as 10.20.33.252 (old IP)

Resolution
If rarp is set to "on", the Sun StorEdge[TM] T3 will always issue a rarp request
and try to get it's IP address from the rarp server.
If there is no answer to the rarp request, it will use the IP address
as defined with the set command.
In order to change the IP address manually, one needs to set rarp to 'off '
and then follow the procedure to change the IP address.
If the rarp server is available, another option is to leave rarp on and edit the host files on the rarp server.
See Sun StorEdge T3 Administrator's Guide (816-0776-10) for additional
details.
