Symptoms
when we install a Solaris[TM] 10 Operating System (OS) for an Sun Fire[TM] E25K server domain by following up standard method, system install script need us to confirm:

NFS Location:

10.4.1.1:/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/

after we checked the /etc/bootparams files on E25K Main SC
(it acts as an installation server), above NFS location is
completely correct, so we confirmed above NFS locations,
but system replys:

ERROR: The image you specified is an incorrect Solaris OS image.

try another two NFS locations such as:

10.4.1.1:/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/Solaris_10
10.4.1.1:/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/Solaris_10/Product

and now system replys:

ERROR: The directory you specified does not contain a valid Solaris OS image.

Above informations give us hints that the default NFS location:

10.4.1.1:/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/

is actual an expected OS image location, but system could not read needed
OS image informations, so system complains the OS image is "incorrect".
while we later provided two NFS locations, both are incorrect.

Resolution
(1) First, On OS installation server, we check those . files
under Solaris[TM] 10 OS images directory:

/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/

It contains two files:

.volume.inf
.cdtoc

root@sc0# cat .volume.inf
VI"SOL_10_106_SPARC_4"

root@sc0# cat .cdtoc

#
PRODNAME=Solaris_4
PRODVERS=10
PRODDIR=Solaris_10/Product

But after we checked a normal released Solaris 10 3/05 DVD,
we found that above String " VI"SOL_10_106_SPARC_4" " is stored
in another . file .volume.inf.4, Not in file .volume.inf

and we also found that .cdtoc file on Solaris 10 3/05 DVD contains
the following string:

"PRODNAME=Solaris"

while in our installation server, .cdtoc file contains:

"PRODNAME=Solaris_4"

we considered that above .cdtoc file and .volume.inf file are
incorrect, we need to take actions to correct them and also
create some other . files which missed on installation server
but actually present on Solaris 10 3/05 DVD media.

(2) take actions to correct needed . files under Solaris 10
OS image directory: /export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/

And here are . files contains:

root@sc0# cat .cdtoc
#
PRODNAME=Solaris
PRODVERS=10
PRODDIR=Solaris_10/Product
root@sc0# cat .slicemapfile

#
# @(#) sparc.dot.slicemapfile 1.13@(#)
#

#
#
# a slice map file for install CD boot slices - maps platform (or not)
# or karch to an install boot slice.
#
# entries are one of:
# x "" <`uname -i`> exclude platform (must preceed "m" entries)
# used if the platform is not really in a karch
# p <slice> <`uname -i`> platform token entry (must preceed "m" entries)
# m <slice> <`uname -m`> karch entry
#

m 2 sun4c
m 3 sun4m
m 4 sun4d
m 5 sun4u
m 5 sun4us
m 6 sun4v

root@sc0# cat .volume.inf
VI"SOL_10_106_SPARC"

root@sc0# cat .volume.inf.2
VI"SOL_10_106_SPARC_2"

root@sc0# cat .volume.inf.3
VI"SOL_10_106_SPARC_3"

root@sc0# cat .volume.inf.4
VI"SOL_10_106_SPARC_4"

And pay attention:

Above modified or created . files permission setting,
we set it to 444, and remember to create it as root
user(owner:root and group was set to "staff")

(3) Once we prepared above . files under Installation server

/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/,

and then in the Solaris OS installation window,type NFS location:

10.4.1.1:/export/install/SOL_10_0106_SPARC/

It Does works for us. and we can make Solaris 10 OS installation
move forward.
