Symptoms
It has been reported that all shipping SunFire[TM] v20z's have identical hostid.

This issue has now been resolved.

The process we are using to pre-load Solaris on SunFire V20Z's uses the same hostid on all machines. This will obviously be a problem for anyone using hostid in some form of unique identifier schema.

Resolution
Warning: all shipping SunFire[TM] V20Z's have identical hostid:The sethostid program has been attached to Sun Bug ID: 6306078, and may be used to change the hostid value in both the 32 and 64 bit Solaris kernels.

Relief/Workaround
One can of course reinstall the system to get a new hostid.

Additional Information
On different SunFire[TM] V20Z machines that are preinstalled, running hostid will show the same results.
