Symptoms
Veritas Volume Manager VXVM versions 3.5MP3, 4.0 and 4.1 will fail to install if the system has a Sun StorEdge[TM] 3310 (SE3310) RAID storage array running firmware 325W attached.
SE3310 firmware revision 325W encounters bugs " Bug ID: 6180281: vxa5kchk hangs with SE3310 RAID attached", this bug causes the installation of Veritas Volume Manager VXVM versions 3.5MP3, 4.0 and 4.1 to hang. VXVM version 3.2 will install with out error.

This issue is caused by a code change in VXVM 3.5MP3 sun Patch ID: 116697-02 for Veritas incident 213688:vxddladm addsupport hung is SES driver while installing (sun Bug ID: 4985749, Bug ID: 4940978).
