Symptoms
A Sun Fire[TM] V60x or V65x with the Intel RAID Controller SRCZCR (X5132A), 12GB of RAM physically installed and running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system, can't address more than 4GB of RAM.

The Intel? RAID Controller SRCZCR is also known as X5132A, 501-6639, and 595-6945.

If you enable "/PAE"(Physical Address Extension) option can cause the system to reboot or get a Windows blue screen, so the driver included with the Windows 2003 release does not address properly beyond 4GB of system memory.

Information about How to check/enable/disable Physical Address Extension (/PAE):

The Physical Address Extension (PAE) enables applications to address more than 4 GB of physical memory. It is supported by Intel processors. The following systems can use PAE to take advantage of physical memory beyond 4GB:

   * Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
* Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition
* Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
* Windows 2000 Advanced Server

To check/enable/disable PAE option, you must to verify or modify the Boot.ini file. The following is an example of a Boot.ini file where the PAE switch has been added:

To disable the PAE option, you just to remove the /PAE from boot.ini and reboot the system.

Download and update the Intel? RAID Controller SRCZCR driver using the following step-by-step instructions.

1 - Browse to and download the driver from www.intel.com:

   http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/srczcr/sb/cs-007036.htm

2 - Copy the Intel? RAID Controller driver to a diskette.

3a - To install the driver on an existing system, following the steps:

- Hardware
- Device Manager
- Choose the SCSI RAID controller.
- Properties
- Driver
- Update Driver
- Insert the floppy disk with the SRCZCR driver and
update the driver.

3b. To install the driver onto a new installation, follow these steps:

1. Download the selected file.
2. Extract the file to create the Windows 2003 driver diskette including the file directory structure.
3. During Windows 2003 installation press the <F6> key at the first blue installation screen.
4. When prompted by the Windows 2003 installer ensure the newly created diskette is in the A: drive.
5. Continue the installation.
