Symptoms
Cartridge is stuck in Seagate Ultrium tape drive.
Unable to remove cartridge by pressing unload switch or with a power off/on of drive.

Solution



Resolution
Should you have difficulty removing a stuck cartridge from the Linear Tape Open (LTO) Seagate Ultrium drive, press the unload switch on the front panel for 15 seconds.

This forces a reset of the drive without powering off.  The drive may then eject the cartridge.  This action will reset memory, as would a power off/on sequence.  It may take up to 30 minutes for the tape to rewind, as the drive does not know how much media is on the machine reel and a slow rewind will occur.
