Symptoms
There may be some occasions when one would like to connect an optional CD-RW drive to the primary master and a default DVD-ROM drive to the secondary master as below.
 Device 0 ( Primary Master )
Removable ATAPI Model: LITE-ON LTR-48327S
Device 1 ( Primary Slave )
Not Present
Device 2 ( Secondary Master )
Removable ATAPI Model: JLMS XJ-HD166S
Device 3 ( Secondary Slave )
Not Present

LITE-ON LTR-48327S is an optional 48X CD-RW drive and the secondary master is the supplied 16X DVD-ROM drive.

On such configuration, Installation with Solaris[TM] DVD media may not complete successfully for Solaris[TM] 9 update 7(9/04). The OS installation duly completed, but after the initial reboot, it prompted for a Supplement CD for the CD-RW drive by opening the CD-RW drive tray. Since we don't have the CD but DVD, we can't continue the boot process.

This issue only occurs on Solaris[TM] 9 9/04. On Solaris[TM] 8 and 10, this issue does not occur.

Resolution
This problem is fixed in Solaris[TM] 9 update 8(5/05).

Internal Comments
This problem occurs because the run_install script in the miniroot
is passing the incorrect device to the launcher.
