PreviouslyPublishedAs 208765 Symptoms After installing Red Hat Enterprise WS 3 on the workstation, which includes two Firewire (IEEE 1394) ports, the operating system does not detect any Firewire device. As root, when attempting to load the Firewire modules, the system indicates that no such modules exist: # modprobe -v ohci1394 FATAL: Module ohci1394 not found. # modprobe -v ieee1394 FATAL: Module ieee1394 not found. Resolution The Firewire (IEEE 1394) modules, including various others, are found on the Red Hat Network, as kernel-*-unsupported RPM package. This package contains extra modules for those drivers which are present in the kernel org kernel, but have not been tested by Red Hat. These drivers are provided as a courtesy and are not officially supported by Red Hat.
