Symptoms
I am receiving the following error when I try to launch the Cadence custom
IC package (icms):

*WARNING* Atr: Failed to find 8-plane PseudoColor visual

Because of the error the application fails to launch.

I have installed the following patches, none of which have resolved the
problem:

106146-06
107078-08
107250-02
107081-04
107607-01


The problem occurs on my Ultra[TM] 5 machines, running Solaris[TM] Version 7
with the M64 graphics chip running in 24bit mode.

Resolution
Workaround:

Put the M64 in 8bit mode using:

m64config -depth 8 -res 1280x1024x76 now
