Symptoms

If Domain Automated System Recovery (ASR) is disabled, the System Management Software (SMS) will take no action to recover a domain in the event of a failure. For example, if a domain with ASR disabled panics, no automated steps will be taken to POST and reboot the domain.

Resolution

Domain Automated System Recovery (ASR) should be enabled at all times unless specifically directed by Sun Engineers.

Set "domain_asr = 1" in all dsmd_tuning.txt files.

The platform configuration file is located at /etc/opt/SUNWSMS/config/dsmd_tuning.txt.

Domain specific configuration files are located in /etc/opt/SUNWSMS/config/A-R.
