Symptoms
During the reboot of a system, not all of the LUN's of the A1000 will be visible to the system which will cause the system not to boot up completely or not mount any of the missing file systems.

Sometimes, only one LUN will be missing. Other times, more LUN's can be missing. When this occurs, running devfsadm will bring all the LUN's back and then the file systems can be mounted manually. If a reboot -- -r or a boot -r is run, then all the LUN's will reappear.

When all the LUN's are presented properly and the system is in operation there is generally no indication of SCSI or drive errors.

Resolution
The root cause of this problem is a missing or defective terminator. Replace or install a new terminator.

Once the terminator has replaced or installed, verify that all the LUN's of the A1000 are seen. Use the format command to see what devices are available and compare it to the output of the /usr/sbin/osa/lad command. You should see the same number of LUN's from each of these commands.

ie:

 root@marge# ./lad
c1t5d0 1T04783042 LUNS: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 <--- 7 LUN's

Specify disk (enter its number): ^D

This shows 7 A1000 LUN's.

Relief/Workaround

1. run devfsadm
2. reboot using reboot -- -r (this will reboot the system and reconfigure the devices)
3. at the OK prompt run boot -r (this will reconfigure the devices on boot)
