Symptoms
SES Firmware Upgrade Fails with sccli Error: sm_err_fw_download_failed

While upgrading 3510 Firmware with Patch ID 113723 , the RAID controller
firmware upgrade completes but the SES firmware fails with the following
error:
sccli: download enclosure firmware: error: sm_err_fw_download_failed
Logical disks (LD)  then go to shutdown mode and a reset of the array is
necessary
to restart them.
Here is the SES download:
sccli> download ses-firmware fc2u_sun_1040a.s3r

Resolution
The problem is caused by having $PATH point to an older version of the
sccli utility, installed with Store ADE.

Before installing Patch ID 113723 firmware, check that the sccli version is
correct by issuing the following command:
# sccli
sccli: selected device /dev/rdsk/c3t600C0FF000000000001EB21E6C045800d0s2
[SUN StorEdge 3510 SN#001EB2]
sccli> ver
sccli version 1.2.4
sccli> q
# which sccli
/opt/SUNWstade/bin/sccli
This is pointing to the wrong version and will cause the error
because the versions are incompatible.
# which sccli
/usr/sbin/sccli
The above path is correct provided the version is 1.2.5 or later.
It is strongly recommended that you use the version documented in
the latest patch README. For 4.x firmware, obtain the latest 113723-xx
patch which requires sccli version 2.4 or later.

Relief/Workaround

# /usr/sbin/sccli
sccli> version
sccli version 1.5.0
sccli>
OR
# /opt/SUNWsscs/sbin/sccli
sccli> version
sccli version 1.5.0
sccli>
If you encounter the problem and LDs have shut down, you
will need to reset the array.
