Symptoms

Symptoms
There are two passwords for the Sun StorEdge[TM] L1000, L1800, L3500
and L11000 tape libraries.

Cause

{CAUSE}

Solution

By default they are:

Operator Password: 1234

Service Password: 5678

If these passwords are changed and subsequently forgotten, the administrator will be unable to perform operator and service task on the tape library LED control panel.

Resolution
To solve this problem, ATL has hard-coded a super-user password into the tape library for just this reason. The following password over-rides the service and operator passwords:

Super-User Password: 711227

Use this password to gain access to the service and operator screens and change the passwords back to the default settings or another password chosen by the administrator.
