Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1004578.1 : Netra[TM]: LOM command "show" displays incorrect hostname
PreviouslyPublishedAs 206349 Symptoms Some Netra[TM] servers (Netra[TM] 20, Netra[TM] T1 AC200) display the wrong hostname when executing the "show" command from the lom> prompt. Example: lom>show hostname hostname cy78 <- The hostname at the LOM level does not match with the uname -a command from Solaris[TM] From the Solaris prompt: # uname -a SunOS netra20-hardware 5.8 Generic_108528-13 sun4u sparc SUNW,Netra-T4 This behavior occurs on the Netra 20 and Netra T1 AC200. It may or may not apply to the Netra[TM] T1 Model 100 and 105 servers. Resolution This problem is usually caused by missing LOM (Learning Object Metadata) supplemental patches/packages. You can still issue LOM commands from the lom> prompt even when the patches or packages are missing. However, 'show hostname' will display gibberish or the prior hostname of the host. To fix, check for the existence of the following Solaris packages:
Install any missing packages. You can find these packages on the supplemental CD. Also, be sure to install any applicable LOM patches. LOM will now report the hostname correctly.
