Symptoms

Attempting to boot an Sun Enterprise[TM] 100000 from a Solaris[TM] 2.6 boot
disk, I got the following error:

 Rebooting with command: boot
Boot device: /sbus@48,0/QLGC,isp@0,10000/sd@0,0:a File and args:
panic[cpu8]/thread=0x10404040: munged memory list = 0x1040395c

The system immediately reset and rebooted again with the same errors.

Resolution

I had forgotten to do a domain_remove / domain_create. The system was
still shown in the domain_status output as Solaris[TM] 2.7.

After re-creating the domain using domain_rename as Solaris[TM} 2.6 everything
worked fine.

Always make sure the OS version in domain_status agrees
with the OS you are booting.

See the Man Page for domain_rename for details of how to change the OS release.

*****NOTE*****
Other Solaris OS releases could have some form of this issue as well. This
is not a problem limited to Solaris 2.6 and 7 only. At all times the
domain_status Solaris release must match the boot image release of the
domain, or bringup/boot will fail.
