Symptoms
The time drift failure may occur during SunVTS[TM] and err=22 messages appear in console on Ultra[TM] 5/Ultra[TM] 10. Even if you did not run SunVTS, time drift or system hang may occur during normal operation.

Resolution
This case was due to high rate of defective U18 (74LVT16373) chip on mother board as a result of some CPAS analysis. U18 failure caused not only time drift but system hang, audio test failure, ERR=22 messages or post error.
If other problem occur without time issue, need to replace system board.

DEFECT DESCRIPTION:

This case was due to high rate of defective U18
(74LVT16373) chip on mother board as a result of some
CPAS analysises. U18 failure caused not only time drift
but system hang, audio test failure, ERR=22 messages or
post error.

The root cause is related to the Sumitomo EME-7351UT
mold compound. Affected components are below.

Temporary Workaround -

Add the line 'set tod_broken = 1' to '/etc/system' and use ntp.
