Symptoms
An Ultra Enterprise[TM] 250 running Solaris[TM] 2.6 3/98 fails to boot after
installing patches. Most likely patches are 2.6 Recommended Patches,
2.6 y2k Patches or the kernel patch Patch-ID# 105181.

The boot failure messages are:

not found set_platform_tsb_spares
krtld: error during initial load/link
fast instruction access MMU miss

Resolution
The minimum operating system requirement for an Ultra Enterprise 250
is 2.5.1 HW: 11/97 or 2.6 HW: 5/98. Solaris 2.5.1 HW: 11/97 requires
Enterprise 250 extensions.

The Ultra Enterprise 250 allows Solaris 2.6 HW 3/98 to install even
though 3/98 does not meet the OS requirement.
Solaris 2.6 3/98 on a 250 is unsupported and installing patches will
likely cause the boot failure.

Reinstall the Ultra Enterprise 250 with Solaris 2.6 5/98.
