Symptoms

Symptom

Ports are not functioning after installing a new SunSAI/P serial port
expansion card(375-0100) with associated patch panel in Sun Fire[TM] 12K
High End Server.
SunSAI/P[TM] 3.0 adapter software and patch 109338-07 were installed.
When the SF12K boots, the following messages appear on the console display:
adcdev saip: [ID 549307 kern.notice] saip0: interrupts
disabled for saip adapter #0
adcdev saip: [ID 627235 kern.notice] saip0: port:0x0
mem:0x400000 ports:8 PCI SUNWsaip V3.0
Once booted 'modinfo' reports the sai/p drivers are loaded.
# modinfo | grep -i saip
148 78552000 1087d3 277 1 saip (Serial Asy. Interface Driver)
149 783b9a53 a2f 278 1 saipdl (SAI/P Download Driver)
Inspection of /dev/cua and /dev/term show SAI/P devices got created.
# ls /dev/cua
a000 a001 a002 a003 a004 a005 a006 a007
# ls /dev/term
a000 a001 a002 a003 a004 a005 a006 a007
Redirecting data to one of the SAI/P ports produces no output.
