Symptoms

Veritas Volume Manager 3.5 does not recognize the Sun StorEdge[TM]
6120 Array in an HA (partner) pair configuration as a device that can
support dynamic multi-pathing.

Resolution

The Veritas Volume Manager Array Support Libraries (ASLs) enable the
Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) 3.5 software to recognize Sun StorEdge[TM]
arrays and to use the arrays' full functionality. If your array is not
currently supported by VxVM, you will need to download and install an ASL
software package. These are available from the Sun Download Center.

Additional Information

To retrieve the current release of the Array Support Library
(t4asl-1_0-solsparc.zip), go to the Sun Download Center
http://www.sun.com/software/download/allproducts.html
and look for the package under "V" for Veritas.

Unzip the file and install the VRTSt4 package. Veritas VxVM will now be
able to recognize attached StorEdge 6X20s.

Comment: The title of this document is very clumsy - and possibly inaccurate:

Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120:Symptom:Sun StorEdge[TM] Volume Manager does not recognize the Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120 array

I would suggest:

Comment: I have indicated the current version of the ASL. I n retrospect, we may want to open this up to contract and free access as well.

Comment: Ran into this issue during a 6320SL installation last weekend. The fix was not apparent from EIS checklists and product documentation. Research on returning to the office located a single Radiance case (36940791) from EMEA that pointed to a similar issue.
