Solution 1020470.1 : Unified Storage Systems 7110, 7210, 7410 do not have a system board FRU for replacement.

Impact

In the event that a Sun Storage 7110, 7210, and 7410 Unified Storage Systems has a system board
failure there is no replacement FRU. There is no way to do a replacement at this time.

All such issues need to be escalated prior to attempting to fix.

Contributing Factors

This issue impacts the following system boards:

- 7110 System Board P/N 541-2297
- 7210 System Board P/N 541-3241
- 7410 System Board P/N 541-2297

Note: The Unified Storage Series 7000 use special onboard settings not available on the system boards
for the base servers. Without these settings the system will malfunction. The use of system boards associated
with the base X64 Servers (Sun Fire X4240, X4540 or X4440) will cause detrimental damage to the system
and under no condition should be used.

Symptoms

Any apparent system board related failure.

Root Cause

The tools to apply the board setting in the field are under development but not available at this time.

Corrective Action

Workaround

If a system board appears suspect then the issue needs to be escalated prior to attempting to fix.
