Installation of the  hpost / redx / libxcpost.so patch, 117371-07 fails when its prepatch script exits with " The prepatch script exited with return code 1 " and reports that prerequisite patch 117002-02 is not already installed on the System Controller.  In fact, " showrev -p | grep 117002 "  confirms that the prequisite patch is already installed on the System Controller .

HOW TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE:

Installation of the hpost / redx / libxcpost.so patch, 117371-07 fails as follows :

# patchadd 117371-07

Checking installed patches...
Executing prepatch script...
This patch requires patch 117002-02, your machi
ne currently has 117002-01
The prepatch script exited with return code 1.

The above error was observed even though the rev02 ( or later ) libfrureg patch -- i.e.,117002-03 has been installed :

# /usr/ccs/bin/what /usr/lib/libfrureg.so.1
/usr/lib/libfrureg.so.1:

To workaround the above condition inherent in the prepatch script --

a. patchrm the current libfrureg patch deployed on this OS : i.e.,
patchrm 117002-03
patchrm 117002-01

b. patchadd the latest available libfrureg patch -- i.e.,
patchadd 117002-03

c. Proceed to complete the hpost patch 117371-07 's installation .
