Impact







If you send consecutive multiple break characters to the serial port, some may not be received properly.  Sending one break is handled as normal without an error.

Symptoms

When sending consecutive multiple break characters to the serial port, some may not be received properly. Sending one break is handled without an error.

Note: Without the fix listed below in this document, the Sun Ultra 45 is not POSIX compliant.

Workaround

IMPORTANT: It is the responsibility of SunSevice and their service partners to manage and distribute the following, including awareness of the benefits and risks.

If an IDR is installed:

remove the IDR with the patchrm command
install the latest resolution patch

If an IDR is not installed:

install the latest resolution patch

Modification History

Updated document from PFIN to FIN status as a resolution patch is now available. Hence, the IDR is no longer required.
