System hangs while booting Solaris:

• Hangs fairly soon during Solaris & Redhat OS installs.
• Fails the microtopology on all DIMMs. The test is run from the advance section of the diagnostics supplied on the Ultra 20 Supplemental CD.
• Must have all 4 DIMM slots populated and must all be Micron 256MB DIMMs

 Other Data Points:

• If the memory configuration is just 2x256MB or 2x256MB Micron and 2x256MB Infineon -> we don't see a failure
• If the memory configuration is 4x256MB Infineon -> we don't see a failure
• The Micron x 4 memory combo has failed not just on Marrakesh but also on the NVIDIA CRB (Customer Reference Board)

The 4x256MB DIMM configuration is not a standard Sun Ultra 20 configuration.  However, Sun Ultra 20 customers may purchase 2 additional 256MB DIMMs - such an upgrade may result in a system hang as described above. 

The corrective action is to replace the 4x256MB DIMMs (part number 370-7942-01) with 4x256MB DIMMs (part number 370-7942-02) (-02 are Infineon).
