Impact

The Control Tower reports an increasing number of physically damaged X2100 motherboards being returned from the field. It has been determined that this may be caused by improper handling during the installation/replacement of CPUs, DIMMs, or the board itself.


Symptoms

Damaged motherboards can negatively affect system operation in various ways including rendering the system inoperable.


Workaround

Take extra caution when installing the Sun Fire X2100 Motherboard and/or removing/installing components onto the motherboard.
