Sun Fire[tm] T1000 Server: Repair Procedures

This section provides tips (when available) for the most common repair procedures for the Sun Fire T1000. The repair procedures are provided in the following manual:

Sun Fire T1000 Server Service Manual(819-3248)

The following table provides tips associated with each component.

Component Tips
Disks
  • Disk Cable Missing From Sun Fire T1000 Diskless configurations (T10-106A-02GA0P) with a serial number below 0610NNE0JZ. (FAB 1000032.1).
  • Certain Seagate disk drives may experience servo seek errors. (FAB 1022189.1).
Ethernet
  • Northstar Dual GBE -02 cards do not support Solaris netboot on SPARC systems. (FAB 1000141.1).
Miscellaneous
  • Console behavior is inconsistent when a graphics device and keyboard are specified for console use. This occurs when the OpenBoot variables 'input-device' and 'output-device' are set to anything other than the default value of 'virtual-console'. (FAB 1018990.1).
PCI
  • FCO A0279-1: Sun Fire T1000 with a Rhea HBA installed may experience Data Loss, Data Corruption and System Hangs. (FAB 1000783.1).
Power Supply
  • A small number of Sun Fire T1000 and SPARC Enterprise T1000 systems may experience a 3.3V Standby low voltage warning and/or soft shutdown. (FAB 1019858.1).
