Operator Panel System Sensors

Press Escape on the Operator Panel to display the optional menu selections. Press the down-arrow key to scroll to the System Sensors menu and press Enter to select the menu.

Press the arrow keys (up, down, right, left) to display the status of the System Sensors. Press Escape to return to the menu.

Analog System Sensors

SENSOR DESCRIPTION
Temperature Displays the temperature in Celsius
+12V Displays the voltage in millivolts
-12V Displays the voltage in millivolts
+24V Displays the voltage in millivolts

Operator Panel Diagnostics

Press Escape on the Operator Panel to display the optional menu selections. Press the down-arrow key to scroll to the Diagnostic menu and press Enter to select the menu.

Press the arrow keys (up, down, right, left) to make selections. Press the Enter key to start the test. Press the Escape key to abort a diagnostic or to return to the menu.

Position to Elem

The CHM moves to the tape or drive position selected.

Position 0 = fixed magazine

Positions 1 - 10 = removable tape magazine

Position 82 = top tape drive

Position 83 = bottom tape drive

Park

The CHM moves to the Operator Panel side of the Long Axis and to the front of the Short Axis.

Move Cartridge

A tape moves from one position to another. This test does not move a tape from Position 82 or 83 if a tape is loaded inside the drive.

Scan

The Bar Code Scanner scans each tape position. Light is projected during the test.

Scan w/Range

The Bar Code Scanner scans the specified tape positions.

Home Gripper

The Gripper jaws are moved to the open position.

Home CHM

The CHM moves to the Tape Drive side of the Long Axis and to the front of the Short Axis.

Cycle Pick/Place

The CHM removes and replaces a tape from the position selected in increments of 10 passes. This test does not move a tape from Position 82 or 83 if a tape is loaded inside the drive.

Cycle Gripper

The Gripper jaws open and close in increments of 10 passes. The last pass leaves the jaws in the open position.

Cycle S Axis

The CHM travels the length of the Short Axis in increments of 10 passes.

Cycle L Axis

The CHM travels the length of the Long Axis in increments of 10 passes.

Cycle Solenoid

The door locking Solenoid is activated in increments of 10 passes.

Self Test

The Gripper moves to the home position.

The CHM moves to the home position.

The Short Axis cycles one time.

The Long Axis cycles one time.

Slot Demo

Tapes are randomly moved from Positions 0 - 10. The Magazine, a tape, and at least one empty slot is required. Press Escape to stop the Demo.

Drive Demo

Tapes are randomly moved from Positions 0 - 10 to the Tape Drives. The Magazine and a tape are required. Error 18 is displayed If the load cartridges in the drives? option is selected. The test will hang after one pass if the number of tapes is not greater than the number of tape drives. Press Escape to stop the Demo.

17 A cartridge was in the Gripper before a move operation
20 The Gripper home sensor did not clear
21 Gripper error
22 Gripper motion took longer than allowed
25 The CHM stalled while picking a cartridge from the drive
26 The Gripper could not open
30 The CHM could not move along the Short Axis
32 The Short Axis Motor failed
36 The SMC servo chip for the Short Axis could not reset
37 The SMC servo busy bit for the Short Axis failed
40 The CHM could not move on the Long Axis
41 The CHM could not return to home on the Long Axis
42 The Long Axis Motor failed
46 The SMC servo chip for the Long Axis could not reset
47 The SMC servo busy bit for the Long Axis failed
70 The CHM could not reach its destination on the Long Axis
71 SMC Firmware Error
72 The Front door is open or the Solenoid failed
73 The CHM could not reach its destination on the Short Axis
75 SMC Firmware error
76 The CHM could not reach its destination on the Long Axis
77 Incorrect Control Mode Menu port setup
91 A diagnostic was aborted by the operator
130-137 SMC SCSI chip failure
