Sun StorEdge[tm] L3500 Tape Library: Repair Procedures

Technical support is supplied by ATL/Quantum in EMEA and the Americas; Sun provides support in all other locations.

This section provides the most common repair procedures for the L3500 tape library. The repair procedures are provided in the following manual:

Information from the following FINs may be helpful when replacing a tape drive:

  • I0495 - Broken door handles on DLT7000s
  • I0448 - Leader misalignment may cause problems
  • I0435 - st.conf entries for 2.5.1 & 2.6 are incorrect
  • I0349 - Internal cables missing from 2 drive library models, can't add additional drives without them
Quantum DLT7000 tape drives may fail with right column of LEDs flashing (FCO A0150-1).
