Notes

  1. PDB <= 501-7696-06 may cause intermittant DVD operation.
  2. PDB 501-7696-07 changes firmware reset timing for proper DVD operation.
  3. PDB 501-7696-10 changes firmware to resolve BugID 6806680.
  4. PDB 511-1604 only supports the SATA DVD. The PATA DVD is not supported.
  5. PDB 511-1604 is not available as a FRU. Use 501-7696.
  6. Access to the Sun Fire X4150 System Board busbar screws is blocked by the CPU0 Heatsink.
    Removal of the CPU0 Heatsink during the PDB replacement procedure is required.
    Clean and re-grease the Heatsink with Thermal Grease Kit F350-1271-01.
    The kit includes Cleaning Wipe 250-1802 and ShinEtsu X23-7783D Thermal Grease syringe 310-0065.
    The kit is not included with the PDB.

SPARC Enterprise T5120 and T5140 Notes

  1. Program the chassis serial number into a replacement PDB using the setscn command.
  2. Reference the Service Manuals for T5120 and T5140.

Storage F5100 Notes

  1. Program the chassis serial number into a replacement PDB with the LF-PDB-Update tool.
  2. The LF-PDB-Update tool is not available for Linux or Windows.
  3. Reference Knowledge Article 1140044.1.
